Minnesota Music Teachers Association

MMTA stands for Minnesota Music Teachers Association.  MMTA is a professional music teacher organization that promotes standards and professionalism in music education.  As a member of this organization, my students have access to contests, festivals and exams.  As a former participant in many of the MMTA programs, I can attest to their helpfulness in keeping students motivated!  Participation in MMTA events encourages steady progress, provides opportunities for performance, and helps students achieve measurable goals in keyboard skills and music theory knowledge. Students accumulate points for each event and ribbons and awards are provided based on point accumulation. The ribbons and awards can be very motivating for some students!  I highly encourage all my students to participate in at least one (and hopefully several!) MMTA events throughout the year.
